I have basically finished the design of my animal planet animal. I decided to go with a tortoise, much to my despise when your trying to design a round shell with straight letters.
He now just needs to be animated. I have found alot of videos on Youtube and have taken down there web addresses for reference.
I'm struggling a little with the parenting and the IK chains. But hopefully it'll just come with time how to do them.
I've done a few more pages for my essay, and 6 pages are done on Indesign, i just need to finish the appendix and a few other things. The all thats left to do is to make it look pretty. Should only take me a day or so to do.

Woop
Finished my Channel 4 logo. It was alot easier when I just looked at it a different way. It took me 15 minutes after that. Rather than the hours spent trying to work it out the other way! So i am very pleased with the results.
I am still working on my essay, it takes alot of time to read all the information and decide what to put in, as a 1500 word essay is really short for the amount of information that needs to be included.
But I am planning on having Appendix. So these won't count towards my word count, people can just read them if they want more information about something.
Like i am planning to have a glossary section in the ID piece, and they won't count towards the word count. Which helps rather than explaining all the meanings of the words in the piece.
Pages 2-7 are done word wise, they just need a little more designing, which can take a while.

Timeline
I have just finished my timeline for my animation essay. It doesn't look right as the 2nd-3rd page so i'll probably change their location.
Also I have started on my channel 4 logo, its going fine at the moment, but its not an easy process replicating someone elses animation.
To add there is no 3dsm on my computer. So i missed out on doing on of the animation lessons but i will catch up its not a problem.

History of Animation Essay
I'm working on my essay at the moment. Its taking a while, because there is so much information to read through and so much to decide what to put it.
At the moment its going to be like this (Made in in design)
Pg1 - History of Animation title page
Pg2-3 - Timeline, with pictures
Pg4-5 Animation techniques and the 12 rules of animation
Pg6-7 Disney, pixar, lucas film and dreamworks, how they contributed and what there steps in the business were.
Pg8-9 Animation history, with some facts, and how cgi works.
pg 10-11 information in the leading people in cgi, how it came about and who the people were.
Trying to keep it around 1500 words is going to be difficult, I may have to cut out some of the pages. Which tbh, i already have made shorter as it was a ridiculous amount. But 11 pages is still alot as well. I want to include a two page spread on cgi in games. But that might be going a bit of topic. I'll ask.
Other than all this haven't really done anything else.

Recieved Brief
I've starting working on the research for the essay. Theres alot to look through and it will be a pain deciding on what content to inclued, or even how to write the content at the moment as we have to make it into a magazine spread (which will be quite fun) But to be honest, there won't be another post until the essay is completed or if were taught any animation skills.
